Oasis Brands Announces Leadership Change
Oasis Brands, makers of Fiora® Brand Tissue and Towels, announced that CEO Nathan Hanson has resigned, effective July 18, to pursue a new opportunity. Oasis Brands has begun a search for his replacement, to be led by Johnny Katio, senior adviser to Oasis Brands’ Board of Directors. Hanson will remain a consultant during the leadership transition through at least the end of July.
Under Hanson’s leadership, Oasis Brands launched Fiora, which has become the fastest growing tissue brand in America, rivaling long-established brands to become the #1 or #2 brand at most of the retailers who carry it. Hanson also made swift, aggressive changes in the supply chain, and now Oasis Brands is one of the only US tissue purveyors offering finished goods with certification to standards set by the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
“Oasis Brands is a great company that has seen significant success, even amidst challenging market situations,” said Hanson. “I feel proud of everything our team has achieved, and with the key strategic initiatives for 2014 and early 2015 well in hand, it’s a good time for me to move on.”
During the leadership transition, the Oasis Brands Board of Directors will work directly with Katio who will oversee administrative functions and continued operations. “Nathan leaves big shoes to fill, and everyone wishes him well as he moves on to the next chapter in his career,” said Katio, who also advises the investor groups of Mercury Paper and Solaris Paper, Oasis Brands’ largest contract manufacturers, and thus is already intimately involved in the retail tissue business.
“Nathan helped to create a strong foundation for sustainable success, and a new CEO will drive the companies to greater achievements,” Katio added. “As always, Oasis Brands is committed to providing our retail customers and their shoppers more competitive choices – with products that are right for families, right for their budgets and right for the environment.”
